I joined this summer program to gain a better understanding of cyber security. Given that I have no formal background in the subject, I expected to be overwhelmed and confused by the things I would learn. The professors and assistants, however, explained all the concepts in fun, exciting ways that made sense to me as a non-computer science student. We learned a lot of basic cyber security techniques that will surely come in handy in my future, even if I don’t decide to delve deeper into the subject. We played exciting games, watched informative videos, and listened to engaging presentations that all came together to form a cohesive, well-run summer camp. The program taught me basic coding, which is becoming increasingly important in today’s society, and introduced me to the expanding world of cyber security. I would definitely recommend this camp to anyone, regardless of their major or minor, because I learned interesting, useful skills, and had a lot of fun doing it.
